I had one of the most productive weeks I’ve had working through KA in a long time! I made it through 3 sections in the unit Applications of Integrals which, in total, included 8 videos and 3 exercises. What I worked through this week was very similar to what I learned in Week 141 and things started… Read More Week 142 – Three Sections in One Week: Calculus Is Starting to Click

I once again had an abysmal week working through KA. I only managed to get through a single exercise which was the same one I was working on LAST week from the section Volume: Triangles and Semicircles Cross Sections. I finished it on Sunday after something like 7-8 attempts. I barely passed the 5-hour mark this… Read More Week 141 – One Exercise, Eight Attempts, and a Breakthrough with Volume

I got my ass handed to me this week on KA. I made it through a grand total of 1 exercise and 2 videos… That said, I just counted my notes and wrote out 42 pages worth of notes/equations so, even though I didn’t make much progress through Applications of Integrals, it wasn’t for a lack… Read More Week 140 – 42 Pages of Notes, Two Videos, and One Tough Week

I had one of those weeks where I felt like in some ways I didn’t make much progress at all but, in other ways, I feel like I learned and worked through a ton of new things. I only made it through 3 videos and 3 exercises this week which feels a bit disappointing, but… Read More Week 139 – Three Videos, Three Exercises, and More Calculus to Figure Out

I fell short of reaching my goal for this week which was to get through two sections, but I’m still very happy with the effort I put in and what I was able to learn/get through. Even though it took me a long time to get through the material, I felt like I had a… Read More Week 138 – When Calculus Starts to Feel Like Algebra

I hit my goal of getting 25% of the way through Applications of Integrals this week but I’m still not thrilled with the amount of progress I made or my understanding of the material that I got through (i.e. I don’t understand it..). Since I first began KA, I’ve always told myself that I’d do a MINIMUM… Read More Week 137 – Applications of Integrals: Slow Progress and Elusive Understanding

This week I passed the Differential Equations unit test on Tuesday which I was very happy about (although there were a number of questions where I wasn’t completely confident in my answer). After that, I started on the following unit, Applications of Integrals, but only made it through 4% of it which was disappointing. Of the few videos… Read More Week 136 – Putting Calculus to Work

I didn’t get started on the unit test from Differential Equations this week, but I did manage to get through the remaining videos and exercises in it. It took me three days to get through the 2nd and final exercise in the section Particular Solutions to Differential Equations. The calculus concepts from this exercise weren’t difficult to understand but… Read More Week 135 – Differential Equations: The Math Makes Sense, but Does It?

This week was one of the most satisfying weeks I’ve had in a long time. I got through 36% of the unit Differential Equations and understood everything I learned this week without much difficulty. In total I made it through 8 videos, 2 articles, and 4 exercises. The hardest part of what I worked on this week… Read More Week 134 – A Welcome Change: Differential Equations Are Clicking

After 5 months of working on Integrals, I FINALLY made it through the unit test. I picked up this week with four questions left to get through on the test and managed to get all four them correct on Tuesday, although I struggled with the last question. Since I got the very first question of the test… Read More Week 133 – Integrals Complete: Five Months in the Making
