I made about as much progress this week as I have every week since I began Precalculus, i.e. didn’t get too far. Just like every other week, I once again feel like I got a lot of really good work done but it’s taking me longer than I anticipated and longer than I’d like it to.… Read More Week 72 – Complex Numbers: Finally Complete!

UGH!! For the third week in a row, I once again didn’t get through the unit Complex Numbers. 🙁 BUT, apart from that, I was happy with how my week went. I now feel like I have a solid understanding of the different forms of complex numbers (except for exponential form which I’ll explain why) and how to… Read More Week 71 – Three Weeks on Complex Numbers—and Counting

Although I didn’t get as far as I wanted to this week, I was happy with the amount of work I completed and, even better, actually enjoyed doing it (loosely speaking). I began this week halfway through the unit Complex Numbers and spent the entire week using trigonometry to find the coordinates of complex numbers on the… Read More Week 70 – Trigonometry Returns—and It Finally Clicks

Well, so far calculus is much more enjoyable to learn than statistics. I spent the entire week working on the unit Complex Numbers and only got halfway through but, even still, got through a lot of material. The majority of my time was spent working through algebraic equations which I found more compelling than nearly everything I… Read More Week 69 – Back to Algebra, Back to Enjoying Math

I’m happy to say I’m officially moving on from statistics. I did well enough on the course challenge this week, scoring a 26/30 (but it really should have been 28/30), to feel good about going forward to calculus. The final two units of the course, Prepare for the 2020 AP Statistics Exam and AP Statistics Standards Mappings, only… Read More Week 68 – Statistics Complete: Calculus, Here I Come!

Once again, I could some up this week’s progress simply with, “it was fine”.  I got through 3 units which sounds pretty good but consider there were no exercises that needed to be done, only each unit’s unit test, it wasn’t that great. To give myself some credit though, the unit tests weren’t exactly easy, and… Read More Week 67 – Just Fine: Making Progress in the Final Stretch

I didn’t get quite as far along as I hoped I would this week but managed to make some decent progress, nonetheless. It took me until Thursday to get through the unit Inference – Comparing Two Groups or Populations which I was hoping to have finished by Wednesday. It then took me 4 or 5 attempts to… Read More Week 66 – Four or Five Attempts Later…

Although I wrote less notes this week than any other week so far, I don’t feel too bad about the amount of work I got done. I think I averaged slightly more than an hour of work per day and got a better understanding of a few tricky concepts, most of which had to do… Read More Week 65 – Less Writing, More Understanding

I’ve reached a point where if I only do 5 hours of work in a week on KA I feel bad about it. That is exactly how I feel right now. I completed 3 units this week, Study Design, Probability and Random Variables, and made some headway in the 4th unit Sampling Distributions but, even still, I feel like I could/should have… Read More Week 64 – When Three Units Feels Like a Slow Week

Well, the bad news is that I made an error at the end of my post last week; I said I had 9 units left to complete in the final statistics course, AP College Statistics, when really I actually had 11. The good news, however, is that I got through 5 units this week. FIVE!! Of… Read More Week 63 – Five Units in One Week: Statistics Is Finally Sticking
